Commercial Study Case: Italpasta Facility LED Retrofit

In 2024, we partnered with Italpasta, the premier producer of pasta products in northern America, to modernize lighting across their warehouse and production facilities through a comprehensive LED retrofit. This project highlights our ability to deliver energy-efficient, high-performance solutions tailored to demanding commercial environments.

Scope of Work

Our team managed the full lifecycle of the project, from planning and coordination through to final commissioning, ensuring a seamless upgrade with minimal disruption to ongoing operations. This included the safe and efficient removal and disposal of existing fluorescent fixtures, followed by the supply and installation of high-performance LED high-bay lighting tailored to the facility’s specific needs.

Given the scale and height of the warehouse and production areas, the work required specialized lift equipment and certified operators to execute installations safely and efficiently. We also completed all necessary electrical modifications and integrations, ensuring the new system met performance requirements and aligned with existing infrastructure.

To guarantee compliance and peace of mind, we coordinated all ESA permitting and inspections, adhering strictly to regulatory standards and industry best practices. The result was a fully compliant, high-quality installation delivered on schedule and to the highest safety standards.

The Rusco team managed the project end-to-end, beginning with a thorough assessment of the home’s existing electrical system to identify capacity limitations, safety concerns, and opportunities for modernization. Based on this evaluation, we completed a full panel replacement, upgrading the system to provide greater reliability and sufficient capacity to handle today’s energy demands. We also installed new dedicated circuits to safely support high-load appliances and emerging technologies, ensuring consistent performance throughout the home. As part of the upgrade, we addressed and corrected all code deficiencies, bringing the entire system into full compliance with current electrical standards.

In addition, we worked closely with the homeowner to design a tailored lighting plan, incorporating energy-efficient pot lights to enhance both functionality and aesthetics. Scope of Work

Our team managed the project from initial planning and design through to final energization, ensuring a smooth and efficient execution at every stage. We began with a detailed assessment of the existing electrical infrastructure to determine load requirements and system compatibility. The scope included the installation of a 45 kVA transformer to safely step down voltage from 600V to 208/120V, as well as a new 225A three-phase distribution panel designed to accommodate increased capacity and support future operational needs.

All conduit runs were carefully planned and installed to optimize routing, protect wiring, and maintain a clean, organized installation. Our team completed full system integration, including precise connections, load distribution, and testing to ensure proper balance across phases and reliable performance under varying conditions.

Throughout the project, we worked closely with the local utility provider to coordinate power shutdowns, tie-ins, and service requirements, minimizing disruption to operations. Given the outdoor environment and mounting heights, the work was carried out using bucket truck access operated by certified personnel to ensure safe and efficient installation.
